The University of Strathclyde
is located in Glasgow city-centre and west end, so is easily
accessible by all means of transport. The only exception is
Ross Priory, the university's 'Conference & Recreational Centre',
which is situated on the southern bank of Loch Lomond, to the north of
Glasgow.

Attractions - many of which are free of charge!
Glasgow's many galleries and museums are popular with visitors, from
the award-winning Burrell Collection with over 8,000 art objects
and Pollok House, one of Scotland's finest Georgian country houses,
both set in Pollok Park in Glasgow city-centre; the Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum,
the most popular free visitor attraction in Scotland; to the Gallery
of Modern Art offering paintings, sculptures and installations from around
the world.
Other places of interest include Scotland's flagship millennium
attraction, the Glasgow Science Centre featuring interactive
exhibits & planetarium;
the Museum of Transport; the People's Palace, which tells the story of
Glasgow, the city's past & its people; and The Tall Ship Glenlee,
at Glasgow Harbour, with its interactive exhibitions and events programme.

From modern shopping complexes and designer boutiques to open-air markets
and souvenir shops.
Centrally located shopping centres such as the Buchanan Galleries,
Princes Square & St. Enoch Shopping Centre, or if you prefer a bargain, why
not try the The Barras (just east of Glasgow Cross) Glasgow's famous
outdoor & indoor market, open each Saturday & Sunday.
If jewellery is what you are after, don't miss one of Britain's oldest
covered shopping arcades; dating from 1827, The Argyll Arcade (off Buchanan
St/Argyle St) is home to 32 jewellery shops.

Glasgow offers a multitude of stunning architecture styles,
and in particular there are many fine examples of Charles
Rennie Mackintosh, the famous
Glasgow- born architect and designer. The Lighthouse, Scotland's Centre
for Architecture, Design & the City, features a Mackintosh interpretation
Centre. Glasgow School of Art is Mackintosh's architectural masterpiece;
House For An Art Lover, set in beautiful parkland and inspired by original
designs by Mackintosh; and The Willow Tearooms designed by Mackintosh
and still functioning as a tearoom.
